Kuntao / Arnis / Baguazhang

Kuntao is translated as “Fist Way!” Jing Shen Jie Fang or Free Spirit Kuntao is the expression of the Chinese Arts of Hsing Yi, Bagauzhang, and various Chinese Kung Fu systems. Kuntao training is extremely intense and demanding, and is open only through invitation.

The key elements of Kuntao training include:

  • Body Forging
  • Animal Body State and Intent
  • Explosive Whole Body Attacks

This system of Kuntao was Developed by Professor Rick Hernandez.

Arnis is one word to describe the Filipino combat Arts. This includes Stick, Knife, and Empty Hand training. The specific system is called the 12 Fields of Combat.

This training includes:

  • Fields Footwork
  • Sikaran Kicking
  • Land Marks
  • Fields of Combat

Baguazhang is defined as the “eight trigram palm”.

The system is constantly moving in, around, and through the opponent while striking with such weapons as: the palms, fingers, fists, elbows, and kicks. The system also includes joint locks, throws, and neck breaks. The distinctively evasive circular footwork is a trademark of the system, and is the theory behind being able to fight multiple attackers.

The system includes:

  • Circle Walking
  • Mother Palms
  • Spiraling Methodologies
  • Coiling and Uncoiling Actions
  • Throws

Professor Rick Hernandez was privileged to have trained privately directly under Professor Florendo Visitacion for many years. Mr. Hernandez is constantly studying the art of learning and refining the principles of combat expression, and with the blessing of Prof. Visitacion created the Improvised Combat Survival Systems.
