Mixed Martial Arts (aka MMA) is a hybrid Art that is constantly changing and evolving. The premise of Mixed Martial Arts is to utilize what works and gets rid of what doesn’t. This high level class gets you in shape fast utilizing principles, techniques, and training methods from Arts such as: Boxing, Kickboxing, Thai Boxing, French Kickboxing, Chinese Kung Fu, Indonesian Martial Arts, Philippine Martial Arts, Greco-Roman Wrestling, American Wrestling, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Shoot Wrestling to just name a few.

This high-energy program provides a nonstop workout while allowing you to gain knowledge of the history, lineage, and style-specific techniques and principles of many Martial Arts. This training will give you firsthand knowledge of each Art’s strengths as well as its weaknesses. Expect to be challenged with stand-up fighting, ground fighting and everything in-between.
This program is by invitation only and is limited to current members of West Coast Martial Arts Academy.
HEAD INSTRUCTOR Shihan Steve Schwartz
Shihan Schwartz was born and raised in New York. At a very young age his parents recognized his high energy and decided to channel and focus it through the Martial Arts. He was 8 years old when first enrolled in Karate and then later joined Kung Fu, Boxing, and Kick Boxing. At the age of 15 his family relocated from New York to Sarasota, Florida where he started as a white belt again and enrolled at West Coast Martial Arts Academy and trained with the former Head Instructor Hanshi Steven Roensch for the next 20 years.
